Wellington, located in the south west of England, is a county town within the county of Somerset. Founded in 1244 and sometimes referred to as 'The Five Burrow Hamlet', Wellington is one of the oldest settlements in the region. Wellington is a town like no other, situated nine miles from the bustling city of Taunton and an equal distance from the attractive riverside town of Bridgwater. According to the Office for National Statistics, the population within Wellington is estimated at around 12,640 with a median age of around 44.2 years. The population is made up of 86.6% of people born in England, 1.5% born in Wales, 4.5% in Scotland 3.7% in Northern Ireland and 3.7% of other UK countries.

Originally known as Walledtown, Wellington is the modern day home of various industries including the car industry, finance industry and motorsport. It is the location to some of the most significant factories in the UK associated with these industries, each with a long and respected history.

The car industry in Wellington is perhaps best enhanced by the presence of two Land Rover factories. The first, a Gen 1 production facility located behind the former Chamberlain Wing at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, manufactures the highest quality off road vehicles in the world. With over sixty years of experience in this field, the factory stands as a testament to the tenacity and expertise of the people who work here.

The second Land Rover factory is located at Wellington's far Westfield Industrial Estate. The largest in the Midlands after Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich facility, this factory has been manufacturing much of the modern Land Rover Range since it was first established in 1979.
