More information about Bordon

Bordon is a thriving town situated in East Hants, United Kingdom, around 16km west of the County Town of Winchester, Hampshire. It lies on the A325 roughly halfway between Farnham and Alton and is only a few miles north of the A3 London to Portsmouth road. Car Industry

Bordon has been a centre for the car industry for many years, having been established during the Second World War as part of a secret Government project to develop an armoured car for the war effort. The production of the armoured car was later replaced by a different type of car — the Rover-type vehicle. Throughout the second half of the 20th century, Bordon was widely regarded as one of the leading centres of production for this type of car, with the car industry going on to become one of the town's main sources of employment. The most important finance institution to be based in Bordon is the Royal Bank of Scotland, which has a branch in the town. It is one of the largest employers in the locality, with around 500 people currently working for the bank in Bordon.
