Borehamwood is a suburban town located within the English county of Hertfordshire, approximately 17 miles (27 kilometres) north of Central London. The town is approximately four miles (6 kilometres) from junction 23 of the M25 motorway, with London Heathrow Airport and Central London being easily accessed. As the population of Borehamwood has grown over the years and particularly in the last decade, the town has increased its prominence and is now a thriving community and a renowned location in the UK.

Home to a population of 31,065 according to the most recent census, taken in 2011, Borehamwood is a vibrant and rapidly growing area with a young demographic. Between 2001 and 2011, the population of the town increased by 6.1%, five times higher than the average growth rate for Hertfordshire and more than three times the national average growth rate. The average age of the residents of Borehamwood is 39, significantly lower than both the national and county averages. Among the population, 65% are aged between 16 and 64, making it a workplace and school centric area.
